Merino wool knitted on cotton yarn gives you all the wool you need without any attachment to the skin. The natural fibers in wool are less likely to cause skin reactions or allergies. Merino wool has the ability to absorb up to 30% of its own weight in moisture, keeping your pony dry and comfortable under the saddle. Real wool remains one of the most technically advanced materials in the world and probably the best you can use under a saddle pad.

A 600 denier polyester girth cover offers anti-chafing protection and adjustable double Velcro straps and adjustable D-buckle straps make girth placement easy. Decorative twisted ropes and a European cut hem give a sleek, sophisticated look. A high quality pony wool saddle pad suitable for everyday or competition use, with the added benefit of being fully machine washable.

Our spine design has been developed to reduce pressure points and provide the best protection for your pony. With a larger surface area covering the entire panel under the saddle, the natural fibers effectively wick moisture away from the skin, distribute pressure evenly and facilitate shock absorption.

Clear spine designs can cause pressure at the seams, which can lead to chafing, sores and uneven pressure distribution. To prevent this, all Premier Equine merino wool saddle pads no longer have a clear spine to improve comfort and protect your pony.
