Description
Also known as a bit continental, it works by lifting the bit into the horse's mouth in the same manner as a traditional gag, but without the same severity. Reins can be attached to either the snaffle ring or the lower ring to increase pressure and leverage. You can also use two reins or rounds attached to one rein with this bit to maintain proper contact on the snaffle ring without pressure on the neck when needed.
An anatomical brass alloy pad in the center helps distribute even pressure on the tongue and mouth bars and also encourages mouthing and contact. The blue soft iron mouthpiece oxidizes easily, which creates a warm feeling and sweet taste in the horse's mouth, helping him accept the bit. Please note that the blue color fades with use, which is normal. An ideal bit for those who need a little extra braking power when jumping or doing work rapide.

Blue Sweet Iron Bits...
Blue Sweet Iron Bits oxidize easily, creating a warm, sweet taste in the horse's mouth, encouraging salivation. Some horses often prefer the warm feeling of soft iron over stainless steel, which is naturally cooler. This makes soft iron bits ideal for sensitive horses or horses that need to be encouraged to put the bit in their mouth and accept it.
Pair your blue two-ring soft iron bit with one of our anatomical bridles.
For health and hygiene reasons, this bit is not returnable if removed from the model.
