The EHEIM sludge extractor is specially designed for gentle cleaning of the pond bottom. The power is adjusted so that the dirt is absorbed without disturbing the bottom too much. Excess food, fish excrement, dead animals and decomposing plant parts, not to mention pollutant inputs from outside, settle to the bottom of the garden pond. On the substrate, they putrefy, forming silt. The decomposition process produces fermentation gases and removes oxygen from the water.
