Composed riding stirrups Vector

The safety stirrups Vector LeMieux represent a new generation of stirrups: technically advanced and lightweight, while still maintaining the classic style expected from LeMieux. Made from aerospace-grade aluminium, they offer an impressive weight-to-strength ratio, making them lighter than most stirrups on the market at just 419 g each, without compromising stability. The ergonomic footbed of the offset stirrup is set at 5°, with a cross-traction surface equipped with integrated hardened steel pins to provide stability for the lower leg while keeping the heels down. The footbed is supported by a double arch balance system that evenly distributes weight across the base of the stirrup frame. The top of the frame is recessed and offset, promoting an outward angle of 45°, allowing the rider to find the optimal foot angle and locate the stirrup when they lose it. The integrated articulated arm features a two-step release mechanism, preventing any unintentional opening. The spring-loaded arm locks at the base of the main frame, meaning that under maximum pressure, such as during landing after a jump, the rider's weight is evenly distributed across the stirrup, preventing the outside from lowering and flexing. When pressure is applied to the stirrup arm, it opens and releases the foot from the stirrup, reducing the risk of being dragged. The breaking force of the stirrup arm has been tested at 36 N (equivalent to 3.62 kg). This demonstrates sufficient strength to prevent unintentional opening, yet allows for quick release if needed. It is important to note that for a stirrup of this design (with a quick release arm), the opening is not guaranteed to be 100% in the event of a fall. Several factors may contribute, such as a fall from the horse, a loose girth causing the saddle to slip, and a slow or unusual exit angle not generating enough lateral force to open the arm.
