The EDIX Courville fur pad is cut in the same way as the Courville treeless saddle, but is also suitable forautres treeless saddles. It is made of a strong, double-stitched quilted cotton fabric on top and a merino fur skin underneath.
Both sides of the backbone feature two large inner compartments and three smaller compartments on top, all with felt inserts. Of course, you can choose a different type of insert if required. As the cushion is equipped with 8 insert compartments, there are several options for ensuring better pressure distribution with the cushion, and for positioning the saddle differently. Where the rider's leg rubs during riding, nylon reinforcement has been applied to prevent wear.
High-quality merino wool remains probably one of the most technically advanced materials in the world. The original fur skin is used instead of shaved and woven wool. The advantages of this natural material are exploited to the full. That's why we recommend using it directly on the horse's back.
The new free spinal canal of EDIX Merino pads is made of shaved Merino wool. This has been developed to reduce pressure points and provide the best possible protection for your horse's spine. In addition, the merino fur skin has a large surface area, so that the saddle panels rest entirely on it. In this way, the natural fibers effectively distribute perspiration outwards, helping to distribute pressure and absorb shock.
