Advantages of SWEET copper mouthpiece:
- Better acceptance
- Pleasant sweet taste of centerpiece
- Encourages chewing and salivation
- Solid copper composition (90% copper, 7% iron and aluminum, no nickel) with very high resistance
- Horses feel good with SWEET copper.

Advantages of a full-cheek fillet:
- Long, extended arms above and below the mouthpiece, with a ring attached. The cheeks have a good lateral guiding effect which improves the horse's response on the outside rein in turns and circles.
- Leverage is not very high. However, it can be increased when used with holding bits, which hold the bit more firmly in the mouth.
- Full cheek bits have proved particularly effective for training young horses and for lunging work.

Advantages of the Pelham bit:
- Can be fitted with one or two sets of reins
- Lever bit exerts pressure on the mouth bars as well as on the tail
- Accurate and efficient responsiveness
- Only if you use a Pelham with two reins can you get the most out of the bit. With the rein in the large upper ring, called the snaffle rein, the action of the bit is similar to that of an Egg-But-Bit or Loose-Ring-Snaffle.
- The lower rein, called the bridle rein, which is attached to the lower end of the shank, is used for its bridle action with leverage, applying pressure to the spine.
- Using the bit with a bit converter and a single rein minimizes the effect of the bit. A famous German riding instructor once told me that using a bit converter with a Pelham was like driving a car and holding the handbrake at the same time.
- The special feature of a Pelham Stübben STEEL tec is a short shank of just 5 cm. This reduces leverage, but allows a more rapide and direct action between the reins and the mouthpiece. (Standard Pelhams have shanks 7cm or 2.3/4 inches long).
- The immediate response is particularly useful when show jumping, especially when the course has many sharp turns.
- The curb chain's flat hooks prevent the horse's lips from being pinched.
- What's more, our curb chain, with its flat hooks, is easier to adjust to each horse's chin, as you don't need to twist it like a conventional curb chain, so it can lie flat in the groove of the chin.

Stübben Steeltec quality:
- No rough edges to injure the horse's mouth
- Long service life thanks to selected materials
- Special treatment technology ensures that bit holes and links remain intact for longer.
