Lifters

The lifting bit is associated with uprights (called lifting uprights) that pass through the two rings perpendicularly. These posts are connected to the bridle & have a direct action on the headpiece. This bit can therefore be used with 4 reins. The snaffle reins will have a lifting effect & the gag reins attached to the special posts will have a lowering effect. It is important to know that the larger the ring of the bit, the more powerful & therefore severe the action of the bit.
