Description
This bit is supposed to be useful with horses on shoulders that tend to lean heavily on the hand. The objective is to encourage the horse to raise its withers and to transfer weight to its hindquarters. Of course, the "rebalancing" effect can only be obtained if the horse has sufficient musculature and flexibility of the back. Therefore, it should be avoided in young horses or in those who are not physically prepared.
The bit is attached to the snaffle by rope posts that slide inside two notches located on the rings. The lifts act on the neck through the headstall of the snaffle.
This bit requires a good hand as it often causes the horse to hood. It is therefore reserved for experienced cavaliers.
