Special features
The All Weather Hurricane Outdoor Blanket is a unique, completely airtight blanket for use in the paddock or in the meadow. The blanket guarantees a dry horse, even in case of heavy rain. Therefore, the blanket is perfect for horses that are outside 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The blanket is very resistant to tearing or scratching and remains 100% waterproof without the need for re-waterproofing.
Fabrics and materials
For 100% wind and waterproofing, we used the same material as the waterproof horse coat, a PU coating. This coating is the same as the one used for the yellow fisherman jackets. The coating is applied to the outside of the blanket and is therefore unique in the equestrian blanket market. Thanks to the artificial rabbit skin on the inside of the blanket, the blanket is very soft on your horse's skin and therefore avoids rubbing marks. This lining also gives the horse a shiny coat and prevents a damp feeling under the blanket. The hurricane blanket has two classic brass-finished stainless steel fasteners in the front, two surcingles and a detachable plastic-covered tail strap. The artificial leather parts and gold detailing will give your horse a sophisticated look, even on a rainy day. We do not recommend using the Hurricane blanket indoors.
Shape and size
The texture of the artificial rabbit skin is designed so that it always snaps back into place after your horse rolls or lies down. The extra flap protects the horse's tail from the cold and wet. If you want extra protection, you can buy a separate neck cover to match the Hurricane blanket. The neck cover is available in 0g or 150g and is easily detached from the blanket with two hook and loop fasteners. The neck cover is slightly longer at the withers, so you don't have to worry about rain getting in.
Care Guide
To clean the Hurricane Blanket, you can machine wash it at 30 degrees or simply wash it with water/sponge. It is best to let the blanket air dry afterwards. Unlikeautres waterproof blankets, this blanket does not need a fluorinated carbon treatment because washing does not alter the waterproofness of this blanket.
