The universal bit combines probing pressure with leverage and is ideal for those who need a little more control. The blue soft iron mouthpiece oxidizes easily, creating a warm sensation and a sweet taste in the horse's mouth, helping him to accept the bit. Please note that the blue color fades with use, which is normal.
Also known as nom or continental, it works by lifting the bit into the horse's mouth in the same way as a traditional gag, but without the same severity. Probing pressure can be applied using the lower rings. A gentler option than the three-ring Dutch gag, this bit is ideal for cavaliers who need a little more control when jumping or doing work rapide, but don't need massive pressure on the back of the neck.
