Why protect with bamboo?
Because we are focused on sustainability, we wanted to develop a new green technology that everyone knows.
Bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world. It has enormous tensile strength, prevents sharp objects from penetrating and is antibacterial.
Elastic Bamboo gaiters are made from a strong TPU shell with multiple ventilation holes in the tendon area and a large ventilation triangle.
The tendon area is reinforced with bamboo to prevent penetration.
Where the horse flexes, we have added a soft natural rubber piece to prevent friction.
The inner part of the gaiters is reinforced with an extra layer of TPU to resist abrasion.
We have created our own in-house testing machine that creates 80N of force when dropped on a horizontal horse leg with a razor sharp axe. Our Bamboo shield horse gaiters withstand this extreme test method that cannot be compared to any real impact while riding.
The gaiters are also Rico test approved and RCT certified.
Fabrics and materials
Our Bamboo Shield front protectors are made with our well-known, highly breathable 3D Spacer lining, used in our closed gaiters and 3D Spacer horse blankets. They feature a tough TPU outer shell that is both lightweight and durable, and an additional bamboo insert in the tendon area for optimal protection against impact and sharp object penetration, and are also antibacterial.
Shape and size
Thanks to their anatomical shape, the gaiters fit perfectly on the horse's leg to offer maximum comfort and protection. This gives the horse maximum freedom of movement for better jumping.
The soft and flexible rubber insert under the joint also provides the horse with greater comfort of movement.
The gaiters are available in sizes S, M and L.
Care instructions
The gaiters are machine washable at 30°C (no tumble dryer). We always recommend using a wash bag to avoid scratches caused by washing. You can easily use our gaiter cleaner, specially designed for TPU protectors, to make your gaiters look like new even after using them.
