Description
The Fjödur saddle is manufactured with a revolutionary new carbon fiber tree, which guarantees both a low weight of around 5 kg and unique anatomical flexibility. The multi-layer production of carbon fiber allows us to control the way the saddle moves between horse and rider. This ensures a better fit and weight distribution, even during riding, when the horse's back is constantly changing shape.
The saddle is made with a soft, pleasant seat in top-quality leather that has a very good "grip". It has a medium depth and a rather narrow waist, giving close contact with the horse and therefore optimizing small impacts on the horse.
The kneepads are soft and anatomically designed, giving the rider a centered position on the saddle and thus optimal weight distribution.
The saddle features single-layer quarters, which also contribute to close, high-quality contact with the horse.
The saddle pads are filled with special latex foam in several layers, with different properties. At the bottom, towards the horse, there is a soft material that facilitates adjustment, and at the top of the saddle pads, a firmer material that ensures good weight distribution. The saddle pads are wide, providing a large support surface, while the horse's spine has plenty of room in the wide chamber.
The saddle is particularly well-suited to the Icelandic court back and, thanks to the angle of the bombs and the design of the saddlecloths, offers great freedom at the shoulders, enabling the horse to move freely in the tölt.
The saddle width can be adjusted to 7 different angles by changing the cup extractor (model A).
The Fjödur saddle has been developed in collaboration with cavaliers experienced professionals, as well as with one of the leading companies in the development of carbon fiber parts for, among others autres, the aeronautical industry.
