The EDIX® Santos saddle is made from top-quality buffalo leather, with a beautiful suede seat in a contrasting color. With its sturdy wooden tree and cantle, beautifully crafted leather, typical decorations and comfortable seat, the EDIX® Santos has all the aspects of a traditional western saddle. EDIX® Santos, as a complete saddle combination, consists of a two-part superstructure in robust buffalo leather and a substructure in profiled felt saddlecloth, including 3 mesh inlays. Beautifully tailored leather guard rails, adjustable with a Blevin slide buckle, and leather-covered stirrups complete the EDIX® Santos and can be purchased separately.
The EDIX® Santos treeless saddle is designed not only for cavaliers western riders, but also for those who prefer longer rides. To create an even more luxurious saddle, you can combine the Santos with an Australian Merino® sheepskin saddle cover.
An EDIX® treeless saddle offers your horse optimum protection against the load exerted by riding, thanks to the special construction of divers soft, flexible pressure-distributing materials: EDIX® MPDS, Multiple Pressure Distribution System (see drawing). At the same time, these soft, flexible layers adapt perfectly to the horse's anatomy and the rider's posture. An EDIX® treeless saddle reacts optimally to the horse's movements. This is one of the reasons why the rider learns to adapt perfectly to the horse's movements and develops an independent posture. In this way, the movements of horse and rider become one, creating excellent communication. As the horse moves much more freely, it has the opportunity to develop optimally, often resulting in an increase in muscle mass. As a result of the above, and after the period of habituation, both horse and rider demonstrate greater relaxation in all aspects of riding.
Unlike all autres EDIX® models, the wooden pommel on EDIX® Santos is not interchangeable. An M-size pommel is fitted as standard. The wooden pommel and cantle connect the left and right halves of the saddle. Together, they ensure saddle stability and rider comfort.
Felt or quilted foam saddle pads are available, with synthetic wool or Australian Merino® sheepskin on the underside. Each of these pads offers spinal clearance and features pockets that can be closed with Velcro and into which various types of inlay can be inserted. In addition, the Santos felt saddle pad has three separate inlay pockets on the top left and top right, into which a layer of felt has already been inserted. If required, additional material can be added to distribute pressure and position. Your saddle dealer will be happy to advise you.
Despite the "square skirt" typical of western saddles, the EDIX® Santos is not longer than a traditional western saddle, which means that this saddle is suitable for most horses. The leather and structure of this western saddle also make it very suitable for slightly heavier cavaliers.
The Santos can be combined with EDIX® saddlebags and breastplate, for which different rings have been applied.

Inlays are subject to wear and tear depending on the intensity of use, and should be checked from time to time for residual strength. These inlay sets are available separately.
