The high-torsion saddle provides a narrow, comfortable, deep and secure seat. The seat is lined with foam and finished in brushed cowhide. The saddle arch can be adjusted by replacing the interchangeable horn. Also in the same style as the saddle are the Oakley mudguards and leather-covered stirrups.
The saddle itself is made up of 2 parts: the upper part - the rider's seating area, and the lower part - the saddle base, which is made up of separate pressure-distributing layers. EDIX MPDS, multiple pressure distribution system (see drawing). These soft, flexible layers adapt to the horse's anatomy, as well as to the rider's build. An EDIX treeless saddle responds optimally to the horse's movements. The total absence of rigid load-bearing parts allows the horse to move freely, especially the muscles of the horse's back and shoulders, enhancing communication between you and your horse.
TheOakley is equipped with EDIX® circle-Y girthing, which distributes the girthing pressure over a larger part of the saddle, as the connections are fixed to the front and rear of the saddle, rather than in the middle. What's more, the position of the strap itself can be adjusted forwards or backwards. In this way, only the weight resulting from the rider's interaction will be the focus of attention.
EDIX recommends purchasing a treeless saddle as a complete package including stirrups, stirrup leathers and a special matching treeless saddle pad with supported inserts. The construction of the special treeless saddle pads complements the pressure-distributing materials of treeless saddles. EDIX pads are anatomically shaped and fitted with the appropriate inserts to guarantee freedom of movement for the spine. Additional pressure and position distribution material can be added if required. Position correction material can be added to the upper pockets so you can temporarily improve a saddle position. EDIX offers different models of Western pads that fit under the Oakley Western saddle. You can choose between a wool-based Western pad finished with synthetic wool, or a foam-based Western pad finished with Australian merino sheepskin. All EDIX pads are specially designed for EDIX treeless saddles, but will also fit under many autres treeless saddles.
To guarantee a firm, constant fit, we recommend a fully or partially elastic girth for a constantly fixed position. Durable elasticity, adapted to your horse's strength, will protect your saddle from unwanted forces caused by variations in your horse's waist circumference during riding. The elastic girth always adjusts in length and has the ability to hold the saddle in place with constant tension. In addition to the EDIX soft leather-lined anatomical elastic girth, we also offer the FRA fully elastic girth. Straps are subject to wear and tear depending on the intensity of use, and should be checked from time to time for residual strength. Sets of inserts are available separately.
